Overview
Going to a museum as immense as the Rijksmuseum can be overwhelming. You are bombarded with years, styles, dates, and are spat back out into the Amsterdam streets in a daze. Yes, what you saw was beautiful but how does it all connect? What do these collections really have to tell us about Dutch history? That’s where we come in. Our vision with this tour is to place all these works within their historical contexts while, at the same time, connecting it back to the greater artistic movements of Europe. No matter your background knowledge of European history, the tour has been created by the independent research of our team of enthusiastic guides to allow all people access into these deeply fascinating periods and, ultimately, we hope you will come away with a knowledge far more intimate and insightful than before.
